Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: The quarter finals were played today, and there were fourteen winners and fourteen teams that ended their seasons. Following the season trend, almost all were mismatches with only the Irondequoit at Thomas game close, for most of the game. As expected, all the higher seeded teams won today and the top four seeded teams are now set for the semifinals.

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: More teams finished their regular season today and although most games were mismatches once again, the Geneva at Wayne game provided some excitement as the Panther won 10-7. NOTE: Long time Genesee Valley Lacrosse Officials Association member, Bob Mentz was met after his assigned game at Wayne tonight by a large group of friends and fellow officials as he was told that he will be inducted into the USA Lacrosse Rochester Chapter Hall of Fame this fall.

There were fifty-three games played last week and although there were some exciting ones there continued to be a large number of mismatches. With travel concerns this season there are only nine out of section games scheduled and seven have been played. Section Five has won six.

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Of the six games played today, only one was close with the rest of the winners outscoring the losers 110-13. Marcus Whitman (8-1) played Geneva (6-3) to a 9-6 win on the road after the teams had four lead changes. at 7-0.

# 3093  Herod Scores Game Winner With 8 Seconds On Clock

In a rainy-muddy game played on Thursday afternoon, Marcus Whitman’s Ryan Herod scored the game winning goal with 0:08 left on the clock to give the Wildcats an 8-7 win over Wayne.  This was only the second time in history that the Wildcats had defeated the Eagles (the last time was 2012).  Herod was demonstrative in the game and finished with 2g-3a.  For Wayne, Nate Michel was equally as impressive with 3g-2a.  The Wildcats increased to 4-0 on the season with Wayne recording their first loss (2-1).  Both see action again tomorrow with Wayne facing Mynderse and Marcus Whitman facing Gananda.

In Churchville-Chili's short history, they have had six head coaches and the latest, Cubby Chalmers has worked to bring the program back to the 2016 season when they went 17-1. This year's schedule is not robust but gives the Saints opportunities to show they can play with the more established programs.

In 2019 Greg O'Connor came on as the Head Coach and Marcus Whitman had their first winning season since 2012 and only the second time since they started in 2009. They also made the tournament final four for the first time and so the Wildcats were hoping that momentum would carry on into 2020. Fortunately, there is a good core of players that return from that 2019 team.
